Arria Minor is one of Denver Lightning's elite athletes. She joined Denver Lightning when she was just 12 years old. She was already quick, but over the years has gotten even quicker, competing with Denver Lightning locally, regionally, and nationally. Her resume includes wins and top 3 finishes at AAU National Junior Olympics, Great Southwest, Nike, Simplot, New Balance, and USATF Junior Championshis in which she earned a spot on the USA Youth World Team. Arria was also named Gatorade Athlete of the Year and won $11,000 to donate to an organization of her choice. She donated the award to her own team, Denver Lightning! Arria Minor is an East High School Angel and is also the Class 5A Colorado State High School Champion in the 100, 200, and 400 meter dash. She also runs on the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams.

Registration and practice for
2018 Outdoor Competitive Team
began April 17th. Returning athletes will have priority. New athletes will be evaluated by the coaching staff before being accepted onto Denver Lightning Competitive Team.

The goal of Denver Lightning is to expose athletes to the various possibilities in track and field while creating an environment establishing discipline, team cohesion, respect, safety and opportunity. Our coaches’ desire is to teach athletes an appreciation for track and field, while enhancing their self-confidence through consistent practice, guidance, and opportunity for competition. We want to develop social skills in an attempt to cooperate in a group setting and to grow in self-expression. Through these fundamentals, athletes will learn to set and obtain goals to reach their highest level of achievements.
Congratulations to our summer competitive team athletes who competed all summer long. Competitive team competed June 23-24 at the USATF Colorado State Junior Olympics and they faired well. 33 athletes competed and of those, 22 advanced to the USATF Region 10 Junior Olympics in Mesa, AZ. At Regionals, several athletes moved on to USATF Nationals in Lawrence, KS, July 24-31.
